You Think You Know a Person…

And I do keep my promises… I said my new book was coming very, very soon. Is this soon enough for you? (SECRET REVEAL INSIDE… shhh)

Miss LiV Adventures ~A Journey Through Time...and Time Again

My petticoat muse has taken quite a turn. No sooner did I finish Miss Livingstone Book III: Dreams Key and set the Release and Launch for December 21st and she kicked back and quit helping me!
“It’s the holidays,” she says. “I’m getting a makeover and chillaxing until the virtual parties arrive.”
“It’s time for copious reading and tasty treats!” she insists.
I’ve been run ragged supplying her with books to read and refilling her bon-bons tray. Always more bon-bons!

I guess I could quit jumping to her command. She’s set aside the gun now. But I don’t like the look of those spike heels. Besides, when I brought her the last tray of treats, she shared a SWEET SECRET that you can click on and see too… (“PSSST…” she spit-whispered, “the Kindle of Miss Liv III is up already. Don’t tell anyone!”) And, she showed me this… COVER REVEAL!…

Did you miss me? I was stuck with my nose to the grindstone with my Miss Liv Adventures story muse sitting on my back. She pushed me through to proofing the first print copy of Book III: Dreams Key. And I’ll admit her thick petticoats spread over me were warm when summer waned…

But when NaNoWriMo arrived, I got talked into being a co-co-ML by more persuasive muses with the advantage of real human voices. “And if I’m co-co-ML, I have to write a new novel in November, right?” I pleaded with my petticoat muse. After much negotiation, she agreed to climb off my back and wait a month as long as she could keep a gun to my head. Fortunately, after awhile she got bored and sat down in the corner. And I got a fun vacation of writing a shiny new story with a shiny…

Tommia's Tablet

Indigenous Peoples’ Day/Inspiring Natives – by Tommia Wright

We are still here.

We have been here since Time Immemorial.

We are the dreamers, the weavers,

We are the storykeepers.

We remember the past and

We plant the seeds of the future.

We will take our place at the table.

We fight for what’s right.

We help fight the wrongs.

We continue our ways in all manner of songs.

We persevere. And yes –

We are still here.

Allies and Spies Released

Book II is here already! Check it out…

Myths of the Mirror

Allies and Spies, Book 2 of the Unraveling the Veil Trilogy is now available on Kindle.

No major fanfare, no 30-day tour. Phew!

Oh, all right… a little celebration.

Some autumn dahlias…

Tasty cocktails…

And low-cal dessert!

(How I wish we could celebrate in person.)

If you missed Book 1, Liars and Thieves, it’s available here.

Allies and Spies

Trust is as thin as a blade’s edge. Secrets abound. And no one is who they seem. Kalann il Drakk, the First of Chaos, makes a bargain with his brethren, in which the future of civilization hangs in the balance.

Thrust together by a sacred oath, a halfbreed goblin, a misfit elf, and a changeling spy unite in an uneasy alliance. But their mission to learn the truth of the strange disappearances must wait—for they owe a blood debt to the changeling queen.

In the Raveen Mountains, the cornerstones…

Book Review: Shards of honor

I technically listened to Shards of Honor in September, but I’ve also read it in the past. It stands out as a book I think many readers will appreciate currently, with a great female lead, so posting a review here as well as the usual sites…Enjoy!

An excellent mix of military action and intelligent romance. Main character Cordelia fulfills the strong woman trope that’s currently popular but is vastly more complex and rich than most female heroines. She’s at once more capable and more vulnerable than most women portrayed in modern fiction. She stands toe to toe with any of the military heros and, in my opinion comes out on top. She’s relatable and not without flaws. She’s surprised by love and both she and her man dance around it, not weaving coy games, but with a life-earned wariness but heart-earned longing. Psychologically compelling and politically interesting on many levels. Humor weaves throughout with sardonic wit. Highly recommended read.

The Fickle Face of Time

A little ditty that might be pretty from my alias Kennedy J. Quinn…

Miss LiV Adventures ~A Journey Through Time...and Time Again

Ironically, I got so caught up in writing this story in response to the Story Board Challenge on FB page, Steampunk Writers Library that I literally lost track of time and left my husband waiting at the bus stop for a ride! So unlike me to do such a thing…He’s forgiven me — for the most part. 🙂 I hope you like the story:

Storyboard William J Jackson in Steampunk Writers LibraryCalla lilies. He thought of the vase on Miss Pennington’s mother’s mantle and the way the enchanting young woman’s equally elegant figure fastened him to this embroidered silk seat in discomfort – waiting. Each minute from noon to one of the clock ticked with a torturous stretching of time. The luncheon was set. He’d spent a fortune for the finest setting in the city. With her puffed sleeves and daring airs, she’d played him for a fool.

“Certainement, Monsieur Worthington.”

Seventy-six hours of editing in 30 days! My goal was 75. It was a lot of work, but I’ve really got a handle on the second book in my Witty Miss Livingstone series and a better grasp of the full story arc of the other 3 books to come. Yay! Congrats to all the rest of you who won or who made some progress on your writing goals this month!

I also completed the AtoZ Blogging Challenge on my other blog, Miss LiV Adventures. I had a great time posting for each letter, found some cool new blogs and met some fun and interesting new people. I survived and then some! Fun!
