Left brain, right brain, I can't decide. After many years of successful visual arts pursuits, I'm working on my other creative inclinations. For the past 8 years, writing has been my second full time job, and it's worth every sleepless night. Sheri J. Kennedy grew up mostly a city-girl coasthopping from Seattle to rural Pennsylvania, Miami and back to Seattle. She currently resides on the banks of the Snoqualmie River in the scenic Cascade Mountains. Her heart has found its home.

You Think You Know a Person…

And I do keep my promises… I said my new book was coming very, very soon. Is this soon enough for you? (SECRET REVEAL INSIDE… shhh)

Miss LiV Adventures ~A Journey Through Time...and Time Again

My petticoat muse has taken quite a turn. No sooner did I finish Miss Livingstone Book III: Dreams Key and set the Release and Launch for December 21st and she kicked back and quit helping me!
“It’s the holidays,” she says. “I’m getting a makeover and chillaxing until the virtual parties arrive.”
“It’s time for copious reading and tasty treats!” she insists.
I’ve been run ragged supplying her with books to read and refilling her bon-bons tray. Always more bon-bons!

I guess I could quit jumping to her command. She’s set aside the gun now. But I don’t like the look of those spike heels. Besides, when I brought her the last tray of treats, she shared a SWEET SECRET that you can click on and see too… (“PSSST…” she spit-whispered, “the Kindle of Miss Liv III is up already. Don’t tell anyone!”) And, she showed me this… COVER REVEAL!…

An A-Musing Offer

So glad I’ll be out from under the gun soon! For those that don’t know, Kennedy J. Quinn is my pen name. My new book is coming very, very soon!

Did you miss me? I was stuck with my nose to the grindstone with my Miss Liv Adventures story muse sitting on my back. She pushed me through to proofing the first print copy of Book III: Dreams Key. And I’ll admit her thick petticoats spread over me were warm when summer waned…

But when NaNoWriMo arrived, I got talked into being a co-co-ML by more persuasive muses with the advantage of real human voices. “And if I’m co-co-ML, I have to write a new novel in November, right?” I pleaded with my petticoat muse. After much negotiation, she agreed to climb off my back and wait a month as long as she could keep a gun to my head. Fortunately, after awhile she got bored and sat down in the corner. And I got a fun vacation of writing a shiny new story with a shiny…

Tommia's Tablet

Indigenous Peoples’ Day/Inspiring Natives – by Tommia Wright

We are still here.

We have been here since Time Immemorial.

We are the dreamers, the weavers,

We are the storykeepers.

We remember the past and

We plant the seeds of the future.

We will take our place at the table.

We fight for what’s right.

We help fight the wrongs.

We continue our ways in all manner of songs.

We persevere. And yes –

We are still here.

B is for Bujold, Lois McMaster Bujold

I’m so excited about this I had to reblog it to Reality with a Twist too! Along with being thrilled to give homage to a great author in Feeling Human, I also got an email from Ms. Bujold! I was giddy when she replied. I’m not one to be star struck. I never wallpapered my room with Tiger Beat or band posters, but I admire the hell out of Lois McMaster Bujold. Her writing inspires me, makes me laugh till I cry, makes me think even deeper than I already do, and best of all sweeps me away in story. How does she do that time after time? Genius… I’m star struck despite myself. Thanks, Lois! It was really great to meet you by email! -Sheri

Miss LiV Adventures ~A Journey Through Time...and Time Again

MemoryLois McMaster Bujold has long been my favorite author, but today she became one of my favorite people. I sent an email to her last night just before midnight – truly at the eleventh hour – to ask if I could include an excerpt from her novel, Memory in my newest book, Feeling Human.

Since the release date for Feeling Human is April 12th, time was of the essence. Not only did Lois give permission, she replied to me this morning. I’m so excited, and I really appreciate her response as well as the privilege! I’d always heard she enjoyed communicating with fans and other writers, but I’m astounded by her down-to-earth graciousness.

If you haven’t read her work, you are missing out. Her plots are complex, ideas creative and thought-provoking, and her characters absolutely live. She has three series to choose from, so check them out to see which…
